We organise three main events: The Business for Scotland Annual Dinner, Independence Ambassador training events and Saltire Club lunches.

The Business for Scotland Annual Dinner

An important event in the Scottish business calendar, the Business for Scotland Annual Dinner gives guests the opportunity to network over dinner and enjoy speeches in the company of some of Scotland’s leading politicians and business people.

Our 2019 dinner was a great success with many seeing it as our best yet. Our keynote speaker was Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP and the event was hosted by comedian and voice-over artist Lewis MacLeod with music from the VIP Dholies (Asian and bagpipe fusion). As Business for Scotland goes from strength to strength this dinner was attended by more than 300 BfS members and supporters.

2) Independence Ambassador Events

BfS has redeveloped and vastly improved our highly effective Ambassador Programme from 2014, but this time it’s not just for business people – our members asked us to make it available to the whole of the Yes movement.  Essentially, we want to train 1,000 independence supporters in the state-of-the-art voter conversion techniques we have developed.

Available as an online learning programme with more than 10 hours of learning materials we also run face to face training events that have been attended by more than 500 people in the last year.

3) Saltire Club Lunches

Saltire Club members hear from and converse with inspiring guest speakers who are leaders in the fields of business, politics, journalism, academia and economics. Each lunch aims to ensure members have the time and opportunity to network, do business and discuss how to grow Scotland’s economy and enhance Scotland’s prosperity.

Saltire Club lunches take place in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, London and Dundee. Membership costs £1,200 + BAT annually and is limited to 800 members in total.
